Senate Joint Resolution 9, authored by Senator Cam Ward (R-Birmingham) and co-sponsored by every member of the Alabama Senate, has passed both the Senate and the House, and now awaits the signature of Governor Bentley. SJR9 authorizes a privately funded monument of The Bill of Rights at the Alabama Capitol.
The resolution is the result of our outreach last November, when Executive Director Chris Bliss travelled to Montgomery and Birmingham to follow up on interest in our mission expressed by a number of private parties in the state.
