On February 28, two flatbed trucks arrived at Kincannon Studios in Austin, offloading ten massive blocks of saw-cut limestone, destined to become America’s first monument of The Bill of Rights. A total of 44,000 pounds of limestone – twenty-two tons worth – fresh from the mountain.
Lead designer and sculptor Joseph Kincannon, hands-on as always, is manning the forklift.
