“I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;”   US Armed Forces Oath of Enlistment

Chris Bliss Executive Director The Bill of Rights Monument Project

The Bill of Rights Monument Project has always taken special pride in the support we’ve received from active duty military and veterans. In asking for your help today, I’d like tell the story of one of our first contributors. It was January of 2006, and I’d just come home from Las Vegas, where I’d performed for 6,000 high earners (average yearly income: $200,000) at their company’s annual meeting. Sitting in my mailbox was a $15 check from Xavier Casto, a disabled veteran in Madison, Wisconsin. Here I was, fresh off my well-paid gig entertaining an arena full of high-powered salespeople, all of us reaping the benefits of America. And here was Xavier Casto, clearly a long way from that kind of prosperity, sending me his hard-earned $15 because he still believed in the freedoms and principles that he’d fought and sacrificed for – the true American Dream of liberty and justice for all. Holding Xavier’s check, all I could think was: “if I can work for those people in Las Vegas, then how can I not work for Xavier Casto?”
I’ve remembered that moment often since, especially whenever it looked like we’d never get to where we are today, on the verge of completing this historic project. Because of the commitment of people like Xavier and the generosity of all our donors, we have now raised over $225,000 for The Bill of Rights Monument at the Arizona State Capitol. Everything but the cost of installing the monoliths is now fully funded!
Thank you for your service, with special thanks to Xavier Casto, who continues to inspire our mission.

MyBillofRights.org* is proud to announce a $1000 contribution from the Arizona chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

“It is about time someone started a project like this. As a disgruntled, disillusioned, and angry Vietnam Vet, all I can say is . . .  Thank You !!” – Robert V, Atlanta GA

“Good luck and best wishes on your worthy endeavor. For someone who was born and raised outside of the United States of America, I have a profound reverence for this document even before I set foot on this country. Protecting and defending it and the country for which it stands while in uniform for 21 years was a rare honor and privilege of my life.” – Luis E, San Diego CA
